Caolan.R.Barrett

Writer & Concept Designer

I started writing 20 years ago when I realised I wanted to tell stories, the only obstacle being stories about what? I explored dozens of ideas, some that almost became a thing but none of them felt right. I yearned for a connection to my work, a feeling of passion for what I was creating and an enthusiasm that simply wouldn't let up. About a decade ago I experienced a mental breakdown that left me reeling, I didn't know what to do and I was lost - both personally and professionally. It was during this period of despair that a spark appeared within the darkness and that spark would become Teer. Life got better, I got better and though it was always in my mind Teer wouldn't find itself committed to the page until I met my partner 3 years ago.
By chance I revealed the concept I'd be nurturing for nearly a decade and she was instantly engaged with it, suggesting I begin to commit to writing it down. Though this didn't start for another 2 years, the countdown had begun and late in 2025 I truly set to work writing the first book of the Tales of The Ever-Awt. At the beginning of 2026, with writing well underway my partner approached me with an idea. What if Tales of The Ever-Awt could be shared with people beyond just a book? What if the world of Teer could be explored through art too? I was immediately excited by this and together we came up with how we could accomplish our dream of bringing Teer to you piece by piece. Teer is a world of beauty and wonder, magic runs in the soil and flows through the water. It carries on the wind and sits at the core of every stone. Whimsy and awe can be found almost anywhere but so to can danger and darkness. Cruelty, malevolence and wickedness also persist within Teer and the time is coming that someone must stand against it. With so much to offer not all of it could fit in 1 book so Tales of The Ever-Awt grew into this subscription service to delivery more of this world to you. I'm extraordinarily excited to be doing this with my partner, her support has been the sole reason any of this has happened and thanks to her efforts Teer has been realised in stunning art form. My gratitude to her is immeasurable and I want to thank her from the bottom of my heart for believing in me and inspiring me to start this journey.

Fay Lucy

Artist & Web Manager

Fay Lucy is a true artist. I first became aware of her work at a market stall where she was selling  animal portraits. Quietly sat by herself and drawing in a sketch book, I was mesmerised by the beauty of what she was doing. A fox cub, imagined in stunning detail, looked back at me and so brilliant was it that I ended up owning one of its prints. Our interaction didn't end there though and in time we became more than just two individuals who enjoyed talking about art. Together I was given the honour of watching Fay fulfill commissions and create some fantastic portraits. Her talent for capturing the innocence of nature and the light within the eyes of animals was sublime. I knew before truly knowing what I wanted that Fay would have to be part of it. Together we discussed numerous ideas on how to combine our talents, her the artist and me the writer. It was after many hours of discussing Teer, the characters, creatures, locations and history that her being the one to give colour to this world became the obvious conclusion. Her desire to know more, to ask questions and to encourage my writing made her enthusiasm for Teer the driving force behind it seeing the light of day. With references supplied by myself, Fay took them as inspiration and has painted not only the cover to the first book but also the chapter covers. Each one is a masterpiece in its own right and captures the whimsy and darkness of Teer. Fay isn't just part of this project, she's the mastermind behind many of its most important decisions. Fay's talent and passion are truly infectious and it's a certainty that without her Tales of The Ever-Awt wouldn't exist.

Tales of The Ever-Awt

Teer is a world of old magic's and fallen empires that persists by the blessing of the divine, and yet the desires of a callous heart and a wicked mind move to bring about ruin - heed less to the cost upon others.
Only the gift of foresight given unto one who does not understand it nor the means to use it can hope to prevail against the malice threatening all. Spirits of a realm almost as ancient as the world will offer aid yet even they for all their power cannot act directly for they are tied to the earth.
Those who bore greater wisdom are gone, lost to tragedies of a bygone age and those who remain care little for matters not of their own.
A land of darkness lays to the north once called Gheistrich, where the mists hide the horrors of a realm laid low by sorcery. To the east is the woodland home of the spirits, The Spiritwoods, who have taken the form of beasts yet hold the power of nature's magic's. Wise are the spirits but also insular in their concern for the outside world and especially Mortals. West lies The Pale Wastes, a near endless plain of dust and salt. Barren and lifeless it is desolate and not a place one would chose to willingly go lest the wish to come upon.

The City of Iron, Ferrum. A grey black smear upon the land, it is a cold place of twisting streets and crocked houses. Space is a commodity few can afford and the people of the smog choked city are as unpleasant as they are miserable. Life is cheap in Ferrum, especially when matters concern The Cult of The Black Circle.

More still lays beyond these places, lands full of creatures both enchanting and nightmarish and peoples of whom some are intriguing whilst others are cutthroat. All this and more lays within the world of Teer, waiting for you to discover it.
